Alison Maria Krauss started her musical career early she was winning competitions in her local area at the age of 10. The singer-songwriter recorded her first album at fourteen. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and recorded her first self-titled album on the label in the year 1987. The year 1989 saw her invited to be a part of Alison Krauss & Union Station who she is a part of.
