Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actor, playback vocalist as well as a musician. She works most often in Tamil as well as Malayalam movies that are based on the Tamil language. She first made an appearance in the Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam and Malayalam debut with Annayum's Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah is an Anglo-Indian born at Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is an attorney in the Madras High Court. She is the younger sister of a researcher assistant from Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah lived near Chennai, went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea was a the classical piano at eight, has been identified as being a "geek" and wanted to become a psychiatric patient until the 12th grade exam. She performed in The Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. This group formed her musical and singing career. In her college days, she also was performing as a theatre artist. She was also in a variety of stage shows put on by The Madras Players. She was also President of the Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea began her acting career by appearing in Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she was a part-time actress in a new leo advertisement with actor Shiva. She also acted in one of the shows that was relayed on Podhigai channel. She has performed across India. She played a minor role in the Kanda Mudhal final (2005). She performed a number of songs for Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. He wanted her to play one of the female lead characters for Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea plays Kalyani who is a wife and mother of a man who loves her. Andrea took on the role of Kalyani following auditions. Simran Shobana, Tabu and other actresses were offered the chance to audition for the role. The movie was announced in the early part of 2010.
